We are proud that our soaps and lotions are all made in the US. All our products are sourced from local suppliers and 90% of our supplies come from Midwest suppliers and farmers. Now that’s what I call ‘going green’! Our soaps are made according to time honored cold pressed methods and when you read our labels, you will see that our products contain natural and organic ingredients. Whether its shea butter, goats milk, coconut oil or lavender, we are working hard to make sure you have the bath and shower experience you deserve!
Just about 3 years ago, Mike and I retired to Key West, Florida. We both left highly stressful corporate jobs on the ‘mainland’ and decided it was time for some fun in the sun. With an average year round temperature of 88 degrees, Key West was the perfect choice. We have spent our days diving for lobster, fishing for mahi and raising our glass in appreciation of our beautiful sunsets. As our love for this crazy little island continued to grow, we realized we wanted to become a bigger part of our community. Before we knew it, the Key West Soap Company was born and each day has brought us amazing friendships, opportunities and a way to share our joy of clean island living.
If you have seen us out and about at Artisan Markets, you’ve met Mike and watched him hand cut fragrant loaves of soap on that crazy soap cutter made of guitar strings! Life holds many wonders and surely one of them is that first scent of a freshly cut loaf of soap.
One of my fondest memories, is when we first moved to Key West and we put in an outdoor shower under the coconut palm. A sweet friend was taking her first outdoor shower and I snuck up and stood outside and sprayed coconut oil into the air as she showered. When she came out, she said “that was so amazing, I could actually smell the coconuts in the air”. I knew then that an ordinary shower was a thing of the past….So pour yourself a margarita, with or without salt, and let yourself get carried away by the scent of our island paradise.
